For a weekend get away

For my readers who haven’t been to Ojai, this beautiful valley is just a 40 minute drive from Calabasas. Just 10 minutes inland from Ventura, Ojai is a nature lovers dream. Spanning 10 miles in length and 3 miles in width, Ojai is scattered with grandiose estates, ranches and luxurious spa’s. One such example is the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa which is considered one of the best secrets among travelers. Ojai is a home away from homes – the perfect weekend getaway.
With tennis, golf and a full service spa, you’ll enjoy all the amenities of resort life. Head into town for casual stroll and local dinning, or simply hang at the Spa and order room service. Ojai is also home to the Ojai film festival which plays at the only theater in 
town. The Ojai Music Festival, is an annual festival of performances by some of the world’s top musicians and composers, and occurs on the first weekend after Memorial Day. Notable appearances include Igor Stravinsky, Aaron Copland, Esa-Pekka Salonen and Pierre Boulez, who was festival director in 2003.
For those looking for more adventure, easy to strenuous hiking trails abound. You’ll find creeks, waterholes and fishing just another 30 minutes into the mountains. You can fish for bass and even trout during the late winter and early spring months.
The weather is getting just perfect this time of year, with highs in upper 70′s and low 80′s. It’s a great time to take off for a few days and enjoy Ojai.
